Child Advocacy and You

Children cannot voice their own long term needs and what is in their best interests. Instead, they rely on adults to speak for them and protect their rights.
Being an advocate for children is so important. Not many people are built to stand up and fight against a system that continues to fail children across the world, daily. It’s a disease that seems to have no cure. It’s heartbreaking; children are left in abusive homes when child protective services should have removed them, or in other cases children are being removed from a loving home for profit revenge. “It’s not my business’ is a death sentence to so many children failed. We say it takes a village because it does and without that village our voices — and the voices of so many children — will continue to fall on deaf ears. Our futures as well as our children’s lives and futures depend on the voices who speak up and continue to stay loud and fight that fight against child abuse and the system that allows it to happen. It takes the heart of a warrior to be an advocate for children of abuse.
There are many ways that you can help add your voice to the mix so that we can create a roar for children who have been silenced.
Stay Informed
You can help laws pass or be blocked by writing to and calling your representatives and knowing the content of the bills you are talking about. You have to stay informed on the proposed legislation so that you know who to call, when to do it, and what to say.
Protest — Make Your Voices Heard
When there is a protest at your local court house, police office, or memorial go see what it’s about and join the cause if it’s worthy.
Join An Advocacy Group — Add Your Name to the List of Warriors for the Voiceless
